Brief

Bold Modernity, Softened by Nature. Commissioned for BensonMcCormack, this project demanded a visual strategy that balances architectural boldness with organic warmth. The building makes a confident statement with its dark, rhythmic exterior, yet hides a sanctuary of greenery within. Our goal was to go beyond static imagery. By incorporating high-end cinematics, we aimed to capture the passage of time, the movement of the wind through the courtyard, and the atmospheric shift from the sun-drenched rooftop pool to the intimate, garden-facing apartments.

Challenge

Animating Light and Texture. The project’s signature feature—a complex façade of dark, matte panels—presented a unique lighting challenge. Black materials can easily lose definition in rendering. We utilized the harsh Australian sun as a creative tool, positioning it to create high-contrast specular highlights that reveal the rich texture and depth of the cladding. Furthermore, integrating the cinematics required a "living" environment. We focused on simulating realistic wind physics for the hanging greenery and creating dynamic water caustics for the rooftop pool, ensuring the transition between still renders and motion video was seamless and immersive.
